One of my favorite scenes from the first TMNT movie back in the 90s was when Splinter had a quiet talk with Raphael about his anger issues, so I wanted to recreate it somewhat with the new 2012 Nick versions of the characters for fun. X) I really like the new size difference that Splinter has in the Nick show, it gives him a stronger air of authority and sets him up as a more protective father figure--not that the original version of him didn't display these features, it's just communicated differently.
I tried out some new ideas when coloring this, used some watercolor brushes and laid on some screentone on different layer modes; I happy with how it turned out, I think it echoes back to some of my older stuff when I used to go crazy with the texture brushes xD (hopefully this isn't as wild as that stuff was) I think I'll keep going in this direction. ^_^
Thanks for looking! I hope ya'll like it, and any comments or questions are always much appreciated.

The scene Our Host invokes from the 1990 live-action flick was indeed powerful and amazing. Esp. in that it was one shot that just flew around the pair to highten the drama.
Bonus multiplier: invoking the classic "zip-tone" coloring effect that was the signature look of the original comics.
