( The one and only! I think anyway...thanks though.
I like the style you draw.
One thing with styles I don't understand is I don't know how to critique them without looking ignorant, because I'm not sure how they're supposed to work.
I can tell this uses many traditional means but the shading and the gradients make this unique.
One thing for sure: I love it!
Another thing, though, is I'm almost confused by it, too.
The shading technique "from black -> dark colour -> bright colour -> almost white -> dots" in some portions of Blade's body (I'm lookin' at the shoulders and whatnot) make it seem almost as if the natural colours are playing chicken with the utter darkness and neither one has given up. It looks totally awesome, but seeing as I've never seen this technique before I have to say it doesn't seem natural.
It doesn't take away from the model seeing as I can clearly see each part of Blade's frame, but it's definitely an eye-popper.
Overall I like this a lot. I'll have to see the rest of your gallery, I believe. Then maybe it'll all make sense to me XD
Also, you asked about the "surprise flash", in which I say "It's okay." It helps bring awareness to the empty space beside it, which isn't terrific since that's the boring part. You would expect some hazard to loom to the right because of it. The piece would work just fine without it, that way it doesn't seem like Blades is alarmed by empty space but instead just concerned about what is up ahead. That being the viewers job to imagine.
